About the event
Students and educators alike are reckoning with increased stress and disruption in the academic and emotional health of students and school communities. Rising to the challenge can require new skills and abilities, addressing practices and procedures, and creating networks of support. Originating in Monroe County and now extending across NYS, the Consortium on Trauma, Illness, and Grief in Schools (TIG) offers over 20 years’ experience in a district and regional approach to creating common language, enhanced tools, and best practice oriented, evidenced based interventions through shared training. This training equips educators with the abilities to more effectively meet the holistic needs of students across the continuum from prevention to postvention, and sets the stage for culturally responsive and regionally based crisis support networks. Facilitated by educators, for educators, TIG offers vetted resources and experience that amplify and accelerate your district’s transformation efforts. Come learn more about this unique model and its relevance in helping you effectively and efficiently supporting students in their overall wellness in these unprecedented times and always.
